- TOUR ONE:
- Tour departs daily at 7.00am from your
Alice Springs accommodation travelling west along the Macdonnell
Ranges to the Finke Gorge National Park. Here you will see magnificent
scenery with rugged escarpments and vivid landscapes.
Negotiating the rugged Finke riverbed,
the worlds oldest watercourse, we come to Kalarranga Lookout
and take in the grandeur of the Amphitheatre of stunning rock
formations.
Then on to Cycad Gorge and Palm Valley where we wonder at
unique Central Australian flora including (Livistona mariae) the
red cabbage palm, found nowhere else in the world..
After a scrumptious picnic lunch, we travel to the Aboriginal
community of Hermannsburg. Time to relax in the historic tea-rooms
of the old Lutheran Mission or wander the precinct. Inspect the
art gallery containing watercolours by the famous Aboriginal painter
Albert Namatjira, who was born here.

- Travel is in an air-conditioned 4WD, equipped
with satellite phone. All seats are forward facing.

- TOUR TWO:
- Tour departs Alice Springs on Tuesday
or Saturday at 7.30am for two memorable days. Experience more
of Finke Gorge National Park, an overnight camp by Palm Creek,
Hermannsburg Historical Precinct, Gosse Bluff, Glen Helen and
Ormiston Gorge.

- DAY 1: We travel out to Finke Gorge
National Park, and explore Cycad Gorge and Palm Valley, as in
Tour 1. After a picnic lunch in the National Park, we enjoy the
spectacular Mpara walk through the Amphitheatre, with its magnificent
rock formations. Enjoy the tranquil sunset from Kalarranga Lookout
before a campfire dinner by Palm Creek. Sleep under the stars
in a cosy swag.

- DAY 2: Visit Hermannsburg Historical
Precinct, for a wander and morning tea. Then we travel on the
Mereenie Loop road with awe-inspiring views of Mount Sonder and
Gosse Bluff (Tnorala). Enjoy the profound stillness of Gosse Bluff
on the short walk inside this vast comet impact crater.
Further on the loop road, we come to Glen Helen, with its vas
t waterhole in the Finke River. Walk in magnificent Ormiston Gorge,
and return to Alice Springs via Namatjira Drive.
