As we walk the ancient valley floor among the groves of Red Cabbage Palms, the visitor obtains a glimpse of Central Australia’s tropical past. This unique area and its flora survives today despite the harsh and relentless surrounding desert.

Gain an insight into early white settlement, and Aboriginal culture at the historic settlement of Hermannsburg. Established in 1877, with great effort and human endeavour, the Lutheran missionaries strove to bring Christianity to the inhabitants of Central Australia.

The two day tour includes more walks in Finke Gorge National Park and the experience of camping under the stars next to Palm Creek. This tour also visits Gosse Bluff (Tnorala), Glen Helen and Ormiston Gorge. Enjoy features of the Western Macdonnell Ranges on the way back into Alice Springs.
